 liveira (BioData.pt)\, Luciana Peixoto (BioData.pt)\n\nOn the 8th and 9th
of July 2026\, the INESC-ID will host the “Ready for BioData Management:
Intensive Course”\, a two-day hands-on training event organised by BioD
ata.pt. This intensive course is designed to provide life sciences researc
hers with a comprehensive introduction to Research Data Management (RDM) a
cross the entire data lifecycle. Through a mix of theoretical content\, gr
oup discussions\, and practical exercises\, participants will engage with
tools such as Galaxy\, Dataverse\, and the Data Stewardship Wizard (DSW).\
nThe course is aimed at researchers\, PhD students\, postdocs\, and lab ma
nagers working with biomedical or life sciences data. No prior experience
in RDM is required\, although participants should have some familiarity wi
th handling research data. Training will be delivered by experts from BioD
ata.pt using resources from the ELIXIR RDMkit.\nAbout Ready for BioData M
anagement? Intensive\nThe Ready for BioData Management: Intensive Course i
s a two-day hands-on training course on Research Data Management (RDM) tha
t guides participants across the data lifecycle\, highlighting the key cha
llenges and questions to address at each stage\, and showcasing tools and
resources that researchers can use to aid them.\nThe course features theor
etical sessions that promote group discussions\, intertwined with practica
l sessions consisting of exercises in small groups\, that allow participan
ts to both get acquainted with the tools and get involved in key RDM chall
enges.\nThe structure and theoretical content of the course is largely der
ived from the RDMkit\, which we strongly recommend as a supporting resour
ce for both researchers and data stewards.\n\n\nhttps://events.biodata.pt/
